• Brief history

  BAFUT is found in the northwest region of Mezam division, Bafut is a Kingdom or Chiefdom, and it is ruled by fun of bafut using traditional powers and in the early 20th century, they came under German empower as a result of the wars. Bafut is located in the western grass field, and it is one of the most powerful traditional kingdoms of the grass Field

  Bafut is one of the two regions in Cameroon along with Bali where traditional power structures are still in place.

  Bafut has an annual festival popularly known as Abin e Mfor or the Dance of the Mfor/Fon. Bafut also has a traditional dance where men and women as when the women are dancing, they sing about their kingdom. The dance of the men is about something else as they wear animal masks which contain the different metamorphosis of the king. Usually they dance at funerals, festivals and homages.
